While the King doesn't like to discuss it, he has experienced battle before. There was a rebellion thirty years ago when he initially assumed the throne. The Taraxacum region of the kingdom was not pleased that the young prince had chosen to marry a peasant girl, and promised to provide more luxuries to the common people (libraries, better roads, etc.) They rose up and tried to remove Richard from the throne to ensure a short, bloody reign. But Richard enlisted the help of some of the commoners he had promised to support, and they gladly fought alongside him. The rebellion was quelled, and the kingdom has had relative peace since. Well...until today, that is.
