Quite the scare tactic...

Ryleigh and Oliver were not close--there was occasional friction between lieutenant and captain--but they worked long guard shifts together throughout the years and Ryleigh considered him a friend.

Horace, however (who is in panel 5, and originally showed up on page 017) was close to Oliver, and probably knew him better than anyone else.

Side note, I will be posting a Fourth of July break picture next week to celebrate with family.
